JITA Bangladesh, which is a last-mile distribution platform that supplies quality essential products that promote better hygiene and nutrition outcomes amongst rural consumers, and Folia Water Bangladesh, which provides affordable water treatment technology, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Sunday, January 16, 2022, virtually. The agreement has been facilitated by Abt. Associates and iDE Bangladesh (on behalf of Feed the Future Bangladesh Nutrition Activity funded by USAID and project prime Abt. Associates) to promote, sell and achieve adoption of the Folia water filters that will increase utilization of safe drinking water that will improve WASH outcomes among rural household beneficiaries through the Female Sales Agents (FSAs) network.

The partnership will ensure that rural households have access to affordable water filters to comfort their homes and eliminate bacteria and other microorganisms, making water safe to drink. The increase in the use of safe water contributes to the better health of rural households, which ultimately contributes towards positive impact fulfilling United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, SDG 3 (Health) and SDG 6 (Water & Sanitation).
